Dear Sir
Thank you for the response in this connection i would like to bring some more points regarding inspection system to be modified , i dont know whether it is possible or not but this inspectin should not be done once in a year to decide which was the first mine in winnig several prizes .Rather than this this ispection should be done by pannel of Judges constituted for a period of one year as usual in present practice or by pannel of judges of Rtd DDMS's  by one organising company , but this pannel of judges should inspect the mines once in Six Months  as we do Internal auditings by quality management systems. This willl not only gives impact on workings and also a serious concern towards better safety management systems .The results of these two inspectins should be taken for average and for final result .
There should be a display system where every nominee of safety week celebrations i'e companies should display practically their mine with working practices and exsisting conditions in a short span of 5 Min as in practice of many other Mining award functions regarding environmental is concern . Most of the prestigeous awards functions for evaluating the prize winners among the participating organisations will follow the same procedure where the top executive of company will give narration to the video.
Why this is required is that this visual dispaly will creates some sort of alertness and effectivenes and competion among all the participants and also a visual learning for new things from all other participating Mines .
Why this much of execesie required is that the safety awards needs to be more prestigeous in nation wide and the winner of this prize needs to be uplifted for national level competition like zonal level and statelevel vis.vis statelevel and national level . is it possible .... let us think in this direction may be be not now but may possible after some time.

All these are done By the Mines Safety  Association of Karnataka except the last, that is lamination of Photo etc
Added to this there are 4 zones . again Zonal level winner&runner participate in the State level Trade test
Winner of state /Zonal level should not participate for succeeding three years
Out of two judges for all trade tests at the field one will be from Equipment Manufacturer
As regards other trade tests VT centers are fully involved and over and above VT manager equipment manufacturer's engineer or a senior manager as the case may be conduct it
In the case of Mate & Foreman both written and oral
For second class etc quiz  when Nearly 15 teams each consisting of a second class , Foreman, Engineer and mate participate. Elimination is through written test from where 4 teams selected to contest  in the line of TV show with timer etc
As regards snacks etc in addition meals are also served by Host mines free to participants
Thanks for bringing up the issue
Arunachalam

Subject: DGMS Mailing List: Safety Week Celebration -Reg

Dear AllAs we all celebrating Mines safety week celebration as mining Community to enhance safety standards in our day to day practices .at this point we must recollect that this beautiful spirit of organising the safety week was brought over to us since past by our mining technoctats of last decades who built the mining community as strong as military of this nation . This is the time for us to think once again to make these inspection by organinng in a innovative manner from the same old routine organising .in my View this must start up from the trade-test where every body knows that every trade-tests the test organisor will took 1/2/3 proze as a routie practices , except some organisation who conduct impartially. This needs to be changed, test should be conducted to give recognisioton to the REAL MINER rather than other. for this trade-Tests Need to be organised by VT Centres with a pannel of VT CREW and DDMS . This includes first-aid also . for trade-tests like field operations like drilling , excavation, dumper software modules as in driving licences centres should be establised at statelevel VT Centre . the fee for this participation must be included in safety week participation fee by which the vt centres can provvide snacks for the participants . this will totally eliminates partiality resulsts which makes non-recognitin for the real Miner.because we all think mining means 1/2 class only now a days . and we will give nominal gifts for these trade test winners . we should know these are the miners with whose hard work we were in safe operating conditions. henece this change needs to be made with out any tresspassing . Let the VT Centres be made responsible for selection of this real Miners not managers . THE wINNER OF THE PRIZE HOLDERS PHOTOGRAPHS SHOULD LAMINATED FOR A PERIOD OF NEXT YEAR CELEBRATIONS IN VT Centres and in DMS Office if possible this will definitly the real respect we are paying to the real Miners . Totally real recognition to the real Miner. afterall we are all one community.... Mining Isn't it . Let us look forward to make this journey of safety week celebrations be organised in a different new manner ....let us discuss some more changes in the same in near by ....
