In whatever software the mining companies prepare the plans, DGMS wants plans to be made on polyester film of certain thickness(is it 120 microns?) and store them in flat storage. There are many Regional inspectors who insist that ammonia prints have to be taken and plans have to be traced manually because the law is not amended. A very neat mine plan with color code to show different lines can be printed in A0 size by a plotter.

SCCL prepares all mine plans in AutoCAD and uses Total stations for its surveys and Laser Profiler for check surveys in opencast mines Overburden Volumes. It is worthwhile all coal companies adopt the software for preparing the plans and maintain proper record of surveys in a tamper proof manner.
