Hi,

In fact, there is no differences, it is wording of surface mining where minerals are extracted directly in open system, so it may be open-cast, open-cut or open pit. Pit is a word for mine, opencast is casting openly, open-cut is cutting openly.

Now you can say opencast and open-cut are the type of mine or pit. Open pit  means a pit or mine where mineral is extracted by method of opencast or open-cut.

I hope I am able to give a direction.
