Dear Sir,
Thank you for pointing this question, which may in the mind of by other members/ visitors as well.
Sir, Official website has its own advantage and limitation. This particular website and the mail group not only presents updated information but also it serve as a reference portal for young mining engineer, like me, specially when one prepare for his/her First Class Examination.
I used the information form this group during my first class examination preparation in 2008 and fees its need for every person who is going to appear the examination.
More over this website and group is not only support for examination but for other as well. The discussions on safety and legislation are really having a lot of importance on mining life.
Sir, when some of our friends want to be a member of Australian Mining Association or SME then they have to pay approximately 20,000 Indian Rupees as membership fees per year. I do not have any objection on it. But we can make our own society/ group for betterment of our Mining Community and a little contribution from us will be required for it. With Due respect on our other serving groups (viz. MGMI, MEAI, IE -Mining Division, etc.), I feel the existence of this group and website are much more needed for young Engineers.
Sir, it is very easy to stop this, but to build a group it requires a lot of initiation and hard work. The web master, a retired DGMS officer did a lot for make it happen and we should try our possible effort for running this group, by actively participating on the discussions we can get more and more from the group.
I feel sorry, if this mail hearts you, sir.

Thanks & Regards
Rathin Biswas

Please ref. Back to the webpage once again, it has been clearly mentioned that www.dgms.net is unofficial website and when the directorate has already launched and being updating its official website.
What's wrong in stopping the parallel expenditure and duplication of work?
I thick we are over panic and diverting the track on to miscommunications.
With regards,
