now a days all blasting operations are carrying by use of electric detonators .ordinary detonators are not suggestable to use because ordinary detonators may cause misfires and very hazards while crimping and handling.
in clustar mining areas secondary blasting also avoided.
Arunachalam sir given good answer regarding the use of electrical detonators.
