Dear Sir
Drilling through mesh is the option if already it is supported by wire mesh and the wire mesh is to be replaced or additional bolts are to be fixed. In freshly exposed roof we need to dress and support with props and after fixing 3 bolts in a row fix the wire mesh and then proceed once again as before

Dear Members,

I want to know the best procedure to install wire mesh in a coal roof having slips. The roof is already supported through roof bolts.

Doesn't opening the existing roof bolts to secure the mesh weaken them ?

Is fresh bolting the only way to secure it ? Coz the drillers say they have problems getting their drill bits through the mesh.
