Dear All,
Lease Boundary is any entity granted by the State Government. It is the total area on which one pays surface rent, dead rent, royalty on production, returns in Form H1, etc.  Mine Boundary is the area within the Lease Boundary where actual mining activity is carried out, including pits, dumps, screening plants, workshop, etc.  The area has to be demarcated in the field by connecting permanent pillars and a permission from the DGMS has to be sought for the same as Mine Boundary.  It is in short Control Area of the Manager as far as SAFETY is concern...

Mine boundary is generally defined by Manager over which he declares during Notice for Mines Opening/ change in mines boundary sent to DGMS. It should include facilities as desired by the definition of Mines in Mines Act/

While Lease Boundary is the line at the extreme boundary of lease given for mining/ prospecting of the mineral by the state govt.
