Cable being only XLPE is not sufficient to be decided as usable for underground coal mines unless and until it is duly approved by DGMS under Regulation 181(3) of the COAL MINES REGULATIONS, 1957. The list of approved cables for coal mines can be had from the below mentioned link: http://dgms.gov.in/pdf/approval/Electrical/Cables.pdf 2. To have a more clear idea about the salient features of cables to be used for underground coal mining, pls refer to Clause No. 106 and 107 of CEAR-2010.
